About Edge of the Bay
14 Ocean View Studios and 6 secluded Vintage Chalets are tucked away in the 27 acres of untouched bushland. You will find the aptly named Edge of the Bay in the heart of the Freycinet Peninsula. With direct access to 3 private, pristine beaches and views across to the Hazards Mountain range from every chalet and studio.
Thanks to our exclusive setting near Coles Bay, there’s an abundance of things to do both in and around Edge of the Bay. Use your new home as a base to discover the wonders of the region. We’re at the gateway to Freycinet National Park and Wineglass Bay. Some of the best walking trails in Australia await you on the Peninsula. In Great Oyster Bay you can see marine life up close and food lovers are spoiled for choice. Self-driving is recommended to explore the region with ease. Alternatively, join a guided tour to discover more with the help of a local.
It’s a great base for exploring the east coast of Tasmania.
How to get here:
Edge of the Bay is 195km (approx. 2.5 hours) from Hobart along the A3. From Launceston, it’s 175km (approx. 2 hours) taking Highway 1 then the B34 and then the A3.
Following the signs to the Freycinet National Park, Edge of the Bay is 23km from the Coles Bay Road turnoff. The resort is 3.5km from Coles Bay, 5km from the Freycinet National Park and 8km from the start of the Freycinet National Park walks, including the walk to Wineglass Bay.
